Breaking out of prison is not illegal in Germany!

The reason for this is because the Germans believe that it’s basic human instinct to be free.
On the other hand, if you HELP someone escape prison, you will be punished. There is a jail sentence of up to 5 years for helping someone in their attempt to escape.
