Two of the most popular games that have been observed as world class games all around the world have been banned in Pakistan. Fox news reported that shop owners claimed that these games portray Pakistan as an incubator for terrorism. “Call of Duty: Black Ops II” and “Medal of Honor: Warfighter” are warfare-themed games where the player gets to shoot enemies. The shop owners in Pakistan complained that these games carry story lines that are against country and its prime intelligence agency i.e. ISI, which in accordance to gaming story line is supporting Al-Qaeda and similar organization. For the fact these controversial games and related entertainment things were removed from shops of Pakistan.
“The problem is that there are things that are against Pakistan and they have included criticism of our army. They show the country in a very poor light.”
- Saleem Memon, president of the APCDACTM in Karachi, said to a foreign outlet.
It has been reported by the facts that dozens of complaints were recorded that forced Saleem Memon to act against such activities so that it would never happen again.
Pakistan has been under massive pressure of terrorism, internal corruption and related affairs. However there is no such kind of terrorist activity happening anywhere inside and outside Pakistan into which Pakistani army or intelligence is involved. These games and dramas are inculcated to propagate bad image of Pakistan and are deemed as designed propaganda in order to undermine Pakistan army and ISI.
